Data Processing
E-kenya.org follows data processing acts as stipulated by the Kenyan Government. All data processing is conducted in a lawful, fair and transparent manner. Data collection is for a specific and legitimate purpose, relevant and limited only to what is necessary. E-kenya does not store data longer than is necessary and we also do not transfer the data to servers outside our organization and the government.
Rights of a Data Subject
While on E-kenya, you (the data subject), will be informed of the use of your personal data. You will also have access to the data, right to stop the processing of all or part of the data and right to correct or delete any data concerning yourself. You as the data subject will be informed when data is being collected, for what purpose and any third parties the personal data will pass through.
E-kenya only handles children’s data after parental consent has been given and the data is processed in the best interest of the child.
Automated Decision Making
E-kenya does not make decisions based on automated processing where the decision produces legal effects that affect the data subject. You (the data subject) has the right to receive, upon request, personal data concerning you in a structure, commonly used, and machine-readable format. You have the right to transmit this data to another data controller or data processor without any hindrance.
Data Protection
E-kenya strictly adheres to the principles of data protection in all our operating procedures including data collection, processing, storage and use of personal data. All our operations are in regulations with the Data Protection Act 2019.
